The
present firm of Budd & Piper derives from
the late Mr Frederick Knight Budd who was admitted
to practice as a solicitor in NSW in the year
1927. Mr F.K. Budd was born at Dungay Creek near
Murwillumbah and lived the whole of his life in
the Tweed District. He first practiced in Murwillumbah,
later opening a Branch Office in Tweed Heads and
afterwards in Coolangatta. He continued in practice
virtually until his passing in 1972. His son Derek
Budd is now the firm's Senior Partner.
Mr
Lawrence Bernard Piper, having migrated from the
United Kingdom shortly after the Second World
War was first of all employed in the firm later
becoming a partner. His son Martin Piper became
a Partner of the firm on the passing of Mr Lawrence
Bernard Piper in 1988.
